The Re-Introduction to Architecture program at Columbia University is a five week intensive workshop that mobilizes the student's photographic, illustrative, analogue and intuitive capacities.
The documentation tasks varied. One required to survey the diverse sceneries a visitor can experience in Manhattan while on his way to Columbia, simultaneously, the other observes how the body behaves in the city during 24 hours. A speculative diagram was produced in the end to represent these fluctuations.
A foreign body in the city of New York
Mannerism and behavioral adaptation that the body takes, as it settles in a new urban environment.
Journey to the Upper West Side
Diagonal spread through the collage, expressing the transfer from  a concrete-impacted settlement (Brooklyn) to a more green landscape (Upper West Side).
Trajectory Transcripts
Intuitive representation of the trajectory through pixel exploitation, varying in line-weights and strokes.
Embodiment | Between Fashion & Architecture
Another documentation exercise speculated on the relationship between the garment that we wear, and the garment that we live in. What could be the common grounds in regards to the body ?
Around the time the workshop was taking place, The Met was hosting its 2018 Heavenly Bodies Exhibition. The instructions for that exercise were clear : Pick an item, document it, survey it, draw it and lastly, execute it using muslin.
To bring everything in full circle, another collage was mounted showcasing how the piece of clothing could work when it's placed the body of its creator.
The piece that was selected was the closing bridal dress for Gianni Versace's last show in 1997, before his death.
"She's not a virgin bride, she's a Versace bride .. She won’t be dainty or timid; she will be proud and strong."
